Adequate Yearly Progress
You should have received a letter from your child’s school notifying you about its current AYP status. Your child’s school has not made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two consecutive years under federal No Child Left Behind legislation. Your child is eligible to transfer to another school in the district, transportation included.
Here is a list of schools to which your child may transfer.
Scotts Mills School
Silver Crest School
If you choose to transfer your child to another school, you will receive free transportation for your child. If the school continues in improvement status, your child will be eligible to remain at the new school until completing the grades offered in the school with free transportation. If the school your child currently attends leaves improvement status, your child can remain at the new school but the district will no longer be responsible for transportation.
We encourage you to apply if you want your child to transfer to another school. If the demand for these services exceeds the capacity, the district will work with you to determine what is best for your child.
If you would like your child to transfer to another school, please complete the form that came with the mailing and return it to the school. Use a separate copy for each child you would transfer. If you need more forms, either copy this one or contact the school for more copies.
