New WebSite comes to Silver Falls School District

Approximately one year ago it was decided that Silver Falls School District needed to update its web site as more and more students, parents, staff and other community members were relying on the district and school websites for information.

The  school district asked the Willamette Education District (WESD) to evaluate various website solutions and make a recommendation as to the type of website setup that would best serve the district and the users of the district's websites. WESD recommended that we use a new website content management system called Drupal.

Drupal is a fairly new "open source" website development software solution that allows multiple employees to update and maintain various portions of a website. By using Drupal, we bypass the need to rely on one or two people to make frequent and often small changes to a website. Schools will now have the ability to maintain and to keep up to date their individual websites.

After several months we now have the basic structure for the new website built. We ask for your patience as school and district staff members learn to use Drupal to maintain and update the content of our various websites.
