Thank You Soldiers!

Scotts Mills School children, led by music teacher Karen Almquist, wanted to express their gratitude and thanks to the brave men and women serving in the military by singing “Thank You Soldiers” written by Michael and Angela Souders.  It was performed and recorded during their December holiday program at Silverton High School.  It was posted on www.military.com as a gift from the school and community to all those serving our country around the world.

Board Member Zone Boundary Changes

At the November 14, 2011 Regular Session, the Silver Falls School Board approved new board member zone boundaries.  Please see attached map.  These changes occurred as a result of district population growth and shifts over the past 10 years as determined by the most recent census.  The new board member boundaries result in nearly equal population in each of the seven zones.

It is important to note that these board zone changes do not result in any school attendance boundary changes for the District.

Andy Bellando, Superintendent
